OPTION 1 The Bible: Part 1 & Part 2

By Paul Johnson, CNBC, 1-2 meetups, free printout

SUBJECTS COVERED:  INSPIRATION // GETTING STARTED

DESCRIPTIONS:   These two handouts are designed more for the disciple maker/mentor to look through to understand how to lead someone in engaging the Bible. It doesn’t, however, offer a particular study method (although Paul does provide  a simple study method here).  Use it to help new BELIEVERS understand how the Bible came about and its purpose.  When they are ready for a meatier Bible reading plan that they can try on their own, use Helping Believers Feed Themselves for 13 weeks of self-guided reading.   For more about Paul Johnson click here.

GETTING STARTED:

  2. Make some goals before your meetup by downloading and using this LEADER’S PREP GUIDE and follow the format on the example page for your time together.

OPTION 2 Be A Disciple: Getting God’s Word Into Your Life  pdf

By Paul Worcester, Christian Challenge, 1 meetup, free printout

SUBJECTS COVERED:  HOW TO HAVE A MEANINGFUL QUIET TIME // HOW TO USE S.O.A.P

DESCRIPTIONS:   This is a short but efficient lesson on how to engage scripture on your own.  It does suggest the S.O.A.P. approach for their quite time.  You may still need to suggest specific questions that the person you are discipling can ask when reading Scripture.  Worcester also has a helpful handout about why and how we should memorize scripture.
